This is the second volume of recordings made by pianist Sal Mosca of he and Warne Marsh's 1981 stand at the Village Vanguard. Except for a lugubrious variation on "Summertime" - "40 Steps" - this session is easily the equal of the contemporaneously released first volume. Mosca is more in the spotlight in Volume 2. Like the earlier volume, several of the tracks are solos excerpted from longer performances, and four of the five excerpts are Mosca solos
