Barsuk-affiliated Brooklyn indie-rockers Yellow Ostrich announced their impending breakup today after a prolific run of five albums in five years. In a post on the band’s official site, Alex Schaaf said the band’s final show will be 12/8 at Glasslands, where they played their first show four years ago. (Glasslands, incidentally, is also going away soon. Schaaf also noted that he has a new project called Human Heat and that the other band members will be pursuing new projects too.
