North East England four-piece punk band’s second album ‘Silence Unspeakable’ will be released 21st April, 2017 via Everything Sucks Music (Europe) & Dead Broke (US/CAN). The band are also off on tour with Strike Anywhere and Petrol Girls in April. Pressed overseas in UK! Greg Robson (vocals/guitar) goes into some detail about the interim between albums and the inspiration behind ‘Silence Unspeakable’: Since the last record (2014’s debut full length ‘Blood & Sand’) a lot has happened. There have been deaths, break-ups, marriages, births.

Unspeakable is a 2004 album by American jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, his 22nd album overall and his 17th to be released on the Elektra Nonesuch label. After several albums emphasizing country, folk and blues music, Unspeakable represented a stylistic shift by exploring R&B/funk rhythm and extensive sampling from obscure vinyl records. The album features performances by Frisell, Hal Willner on sampler and turntables, bassist Tony Scherr, drummer Kenny Wollesen, and percussionist Don Alias.

Silent Unspeakable 2017. Endeavour Would Be an Understatement. Silent Unspeakable 2017. See All. About Bear Trade. Formed by ex-members of Blocko, Former Cell Mates, Pure Graft, and the Mercury League in 2011, Bear Trade came about when frontman and guitarist Greg Robson wrote a wealth of material that prompted him to start a new band.

Comparing Silent Unspeakable to the band's last album Blood & Sand, it seems to me that the songs are slower over all, with more emphasis on storytelling and less concern about being fast or loud. The album has a cohesive feeling as if each song is building on the one that preceded it. In some ways it reminds me of the last Arrivals record. As a whole, I think Silent Unspeakable is the best of Bear Trade and should be a must listen for anyone into melodic UK punk.

Talk about Bear Trade - Silent Unspeakable

Bear Trade has 'that' sound. You know?! The good one that makes you sit back and say DANG! this record is how records should sound! Excellent record start to finish. As to be expected. A brilliant follow up to Blood & Sand. It picks up where B&S left off and just keeps going. Not a lot of bands can pull that off.
