Ummagumma is the fourth album by the English rock band Pink Floyd. It is a double album and was released on 7 November 1969 by Harvest Records. The first disc consists of live recordings from concerts at Mothers Club in Birmingham and the College of Commerce in Manchester that contained part of their normal set list of the time, while the second contains solo compositions by each member of the band recorded at Abbey Road Studios

Ummagumma is Pink Floyd’s 4th album. It was released the 25th of October 1969 in the UK and the 10th of November of the same year in the USA. The first disc a compilation of live recordings of singles and songs from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967) and A Saucerful of Secrets (1968). In the second disc, each member of the group wrote and recorded a song. Richard Wright wrote Sysyphus, Roger Waters wrote Grantchester Meadows and Several Pieces of, David Gilmour wrote The Narrow Way and Nick Mason wrote The Grand Vizier’s Garden Party.

Simply beginning with the album jacket, one that is designed for contemplation, creating a Droste Effect, where I wonder how quickly this bit of trippiness is passed over, while during the psychedelic 60’s, the concept of the album jacket was deeply appreciated while in an altered state, which made it all that.

You can almost feel the walls sweating inside this venue. The studio album shows off each individual member's vision for self expression. Floyd fans will love it and others will find it interested at the very least.
