Honeyelk-stoyz VI dozeveloy, lp, 1979, france. Frolkhaven-at the apex of high, lp, 1973, USA. Industry-s/t, 12" ep, 1980, USA.

Pearl formed in Toulon, France, by brothers Gérard and Christian Blanc. The group Honeyelk launched an only and rare album in 1979, titled Stoyz saw Dozévéloy. Brings only 2 tracks less than 30 minutes following the line of Zeuhl (Magma influences), free jazz, avant-garde and Cantebury.

Talk about Honeyelk - Stoyz Vi Dozévéloy

Although the album "Stoyz Vi Dozévéloy" and CD release "En Quête D'un Monde Meilleur..." may be bundled together here on Discogs, the original album is quite different to what is featured on the CD release. The same works are featured, and quite possibly the same performance, yet the mix, production and sound is so different that they feel like different works! The original LP is very dark, slightly menacing and very Zeuhl, whereas the CD edition is so much more polished, bright and more "prog". I'd never done a one-on-one comparison before, so here goes...Honeyelk, differences between the Musea CD version & Stoyz LP originalI did a one-to-one comparison check with both versions open in my sound editing software...For starters, no track-parts index/bands on the CD (lazy mastering that), although it mostly matches the LP indexes with some minor pause or no pause differences, and slight pitch variations.Part 1: the most evident differences with the CD are instantly apparent, lots of heavily processed reverb added to the winds, plus lots of extra keyboards sounds / string-synths that largely drown-out much of the electric piano!Part 2: The intro is just electric piano (percussion sounds from the LP version are missing). Bass synth sounds are removed as well, and extra reverb added overall, also the pitch is slightly slower.Part 3: again has extra keyboards on top.Part 4: more reverb, placement of intruments and dynamics of the mix are different. Part 5: has synth drone brought to the front. Part 6-10: ditto Part 1 (moslty, i.e. added reverb, extra keyboards, etc.)Part 7: tail end of this is missing from the CD version.Part 11: Starts low with vocals buried in reverb, whereas the original is crisp with vocals to the front, and develops into an almost completely different version to the original! Part 11 CD version = 3:23, whereas LP version = 4:01
