Helios is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band the Fray. It was released on February 25, 2014 by Epic Records. The Fray's third album, Scars and Stories, was released in February 2012. In an October 2012 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, frontman Isaac Slade said that the band would be starting work on their fourth album in 2013, aiming to release it around Christmas 2013. On June 4, 2013, the band announced that they had begun recording their fourth album.

This is Andy Votel's first compilation for fat city recordings. On the album Andy features some of his favourite tracks which takes in productions from France, . , ., Germany, Turkey and Hungary and includes countless rare breaks & beats.

Andy Votel: I've always been fascinated with literally any mechanical format that can hold musical information whether it be Fisher Price discs, 8-track cartridges, flexi-discs or music boxes. But compact cassettes are close to my heart because it was using this format that I learned to make and manipulate musical noise for the first time.
