Eric Victor Burdon (born 11 May 1941) is an English singer-songwriter and actor. He was previously the vocalist of rock band The Animals and funk band War. He is regarded as one of the British Invasion's most distinctive singers with his deep, powerful blues-rock voice. He is also known for his aggressive stage performances. In 2008, he was ranked 57th in Rolling Stone's list The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.

Comeback is an album by Eric Burdon released in 1982, during the Comeback film project. It was the studio album to the film. Live tracks recorded during the sessions were released later on compilations. It was re-released several times under the name Crawling King Snake and The Road. The Comeback Soundtrack ( with studio and live tracks ) was released in 1994. The "Comeback" project was a film and soundtrack sung and acted by Burdon that was roughly based on Burdon's life

This album combines two previously released Eric Burdon live albums. Live at the Roxy (aka Roxy Live) comes from a show at the Roxy nightclub in Los Angeles recorded in 1976. Burdon, fronting a hard rock quintet, was introducing a group of politically oriented songs he had written for a proposed movie that never got made. Old hits "House of the Rising Sun" and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" anchored the set, but even they were given radical rearrangements long on screaming guitar solos and echo-laden vocals.
