The Twain Shall Meet is the second album by Eric Burdon & the Animals. It was released in 1968 on MGM Records. The record includes "Sky Pilot", an anti-war song of the Vietnam War era, and "Monterey", the band's tribute to the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival
The Twain Shall Meet (LP, Album, RE). Polydor. I'm looking at the German Polydor 1993 cd 8410402 & notice the inside & back covers replace 'shall' with 'small'. Is this error also on the German Polydor 1993 lp 2391561 & do these errors create any value? On cd? On lp? Reply Notify me Helpful.
Partly it's the sheer range of its contents – when Eric Burdon first started recording in 1964, who would ever have thought it would lead to this? The mix of topical songs, surreal antiwar anthems, and diffuse psychedelic mood pieces is extremely ambitious, and while much of the group's reach exceeds its grasp, it's all worth a trip through as a fascinating period piece
Could you please consider a re-up of the four Eric Burdon and the Animals SHM CDs in Lossless? Thank you and Happy Holidays! 0.
as a profound talker on Winds of Change and too little time to do the extended songs full justice on The Twain Shall Meet), they were still solid pieces of psychedelia.
Eric Burdon and the Animals were one of the most successful psychedelic groups of 1960s, having four top forty psychedelic hits in the USA during a period of about a year, a success that is only topped by Donovan and the Beatles. Two of those Animals hits are on this album: "Monterey and Sky Pilot".
