The Barrelhouse Jazz Orchestra was formed in Montreal in 2011 in an effort to celebrate and reinvigorate classic repertoire from the Great American Songbook. Featuring local notable jazz musicians in the lush context of a jazz orchestra, replete with strings, horns, and rhythm section, the Barrelhouse Jazz Orchestra fuses classic sounds and textures with modern jazz sensibilities.
