God Dethroned - Christ Hunt flac album

God Dethroned is a Dutch extreme metal band from Beilen, originally formed in 1990. God Dethroned was formed in 1990 by singer and guitar player Henri Sattler, with Hans Leegstra (guitar) and Ard de Weerd. Sattler and Leegstra had previously been in Dysentery; Leegstra, quickly after the band formed, left the music scene altogether. They recorded a demo, Christ Hunt, in 1991, after which Marco Arends joined on bass. Their first album, The Christhunt, was released on the German label Shark.

Occasionally God Dethroned slows down and actually they do have a bit of Asphyx gloominess in these slow parts, like in Infernal Sights of a Bloody Dawn (Morbid Rites) for example, which definitely belongs to my favourite tracks on "The Christhunt". Check that doomy riff and mournful guitar lead – they could easily been taken from The Rack. Several truly killer songs go through the album. Most people will remember God Dethroned as a band that gained a great deal of popularity (and infamy) later into their career as one of the "second wave" death metal bands. That is to say, bands such as Vital Remains, Vader, Krisiun, and many others, all of whom were around in some capacity releasing albums around 1991-1993 (save for Krisiun, whose first album did not come out until 1995), but wouldn't achieve scene-wide acclaim until the, when these bands stuck to their guns.

God Dethroned released their debut on the German label Shark in 1992 entitled 'The Christ Hunt'. The critics in the underground were marvelous, sales however not that good due to the poor promotion, distribution. And now finally worldwide re-issued on vic records. The band split up after The Christ Hunt and Satler formed other bands?However he returned to mighty God Dethroned in 1996
