Someday My Prince Will Come is the seventh studio album by Miles Davis for Columbia Records, catalogue CL 1656 and CS 8456 in stereo, released in 1961. Recorded at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in Manhattan, it marked the only Miles Davis Quintet studio recording session to feature saxophonist Hank Mobley.

After both John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley left Miles Davis' quintet, he was caught in the web of seeking suitable replacements. One of those is Someday My Prince Will Come. The lineup is Davis, pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and alternating drummers Jimmy Cobb and Philly Jo Jones. The saxophonist was Hank Mobley on all but two tracks.

Original Release : 1961. Side A. 1. Someday My Prince Will Come 2. Old Folks 3. Pfrancing. This album is a cross-over from Kind Of Blue (MOVLP019), which is known for the typical Miles Davis-tunes, to traditional pop-standards such as the eponymous title track from"Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs". Music On Vinyl turned this classic album, including glaring solo's from John Coltrane (joining Miles on two tracks on this album) and Hank Mobley, into a true gem! This record is re-mastered on 180 gram audiophile vinyl. 180 gram audiophile vinyl.

This album is a work that Miles Davis recorded in March, 1961. John Coltrane had already resigned from Miles Band in April, 1960 ago of about one year of year when this album was recorded. And, John Coltrane and Miles Davis that participates in the recording of this album are the last works as competing each other. The existence of John Coltrane might have been very large for Miles Davis though John Coltrane was already away from the combo of Miles Davis. The performance done with this album to say nothing of it has acted greatly.
