But the exact point where Black Fucking Cancer won me over was in the transition between Blood Stained Whore and SinnRitualVoid. One starts where the other one ends - eternal noise and riffs, the rusty machete is in our entrails, the hemorrhage doesn’t stop spitting blood, and the murderer has no intention of stopping anytime soon. If Black Fucking Cancer have been able to establish such high standards with just their first album, they are capable of big achievements. Or they could become a disappointment. Black Fucking Cancer traffic in long, drawn-out, chaotic black metal that tickles the corpse-painted cheeks of fans of 1349, Antaeus, or Emperor. If it’s your thing, you’re in luck, but the problem is that Black Fucking Cancer don’t really do anything all that great. The melodies aren’t memorable; the riffs and rhythms aren’t either. The chaos all too often goes off into droning sections, especially in Acid Ocean and SinnRitualVoid, which could be much more enjoyable if lopped in half. Hell, that’s a big point to be made: if this were cut in half, and only the interesting parts were.
