Love Comes Close is the first album from the American Darkwave band Cold Cave, released in November 2009 on Matador Records. Love Comes Close was released on November 3, 2009. The album was released by Matador Records on 12" vinyl, CD, and Digital formats.

Cold Cave began working on its third studio album and follow up to Cherish the Light Years tentatively titled Sunflower in 2013, and a release date in 2014 was originally anticipated. On what the potential sonic direction of the new album, Eisold said it would be a, "mix between some of the bigger sounds on Cherish and more minimal stuff I'm interested in now, like Suicide or 39 Clocks. Benoit died in February 2013.

His intention with Love Comes Close was, he says, to make a beautiful album to balance all of the ugliness I've put into the world. Using a blend of analogue and digital technology, he explores the art of darkness with songs that are catchy and hooky, featuring, variously, sweepingly cinematic synthscapes and insidious keyboard motifs over brutal jackhammer beats. Even the harsher Cold Cave songs will contain an alluring chord sequence or some prettifying female vocals courtesy of keyboardist Caralee McElroy. On Life Magazine the fuzz and distortion are used in the service of a pop melody.
