I first heard this album in English at UCLA but I was a German student and I found it in German and it's fantastic better than the American or English version way better. This is certainly a nice album for people who like to listen to Peter Gabriel making german-sounding noises, while not caring much what the words mean. For everyone else, I think it is noteworthy that the lyrics aren't very close to their original English versions. The German lyrics were written by some German state television employee named Horst Königstein, who thought of himself as a filmmaker, and had neither a linguistic nor a musical background or education
