Finally coming out from behind the shadow, in 1979 Kunkel released her debut solo album, an eponymous set, which her husband produced, and, of course, played on. A second set, I Run with Trouble, arrived the following year, this one produced by Henry Lewry and the singer herself. This reissue brings together both of those Columbia sets, with all the songs annotated by Kunkel in the sleeve notes. Both albums were comprised of astutely chosen covers, alongside a handful of Kunkel's own compositions.

Leah Kunkel was the younger sister of the legendary 'Mama' Cass Elliott and wife of rock drummer Russ Kunkel. She worked as a session vocalist and her career included several prestigious recordings with artists such as Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Art Garfunkel, Dan Hill and Carly Simon. She released two solo albums in 1979 and 1980.
