Careless is the debut album by singer/songwriter Stephen Bishop. It includes two hit singles: "On and On", which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard singles chart, and "Save It for a Rainy Day" which made No. 22. The album itself rose to No. 34 on the Billboard albums chart. Notable contributors to the album include Eric Clapton, Art Garfunkel and Chaka Khan. All songs written by Stephen Bishop.

Even before Stephen Bishop (guitar, trombone, vocals) issued his debut long-player, Careless, in 1978, he'd already become a music industry insider. Bishop was discovered by Art Garfunkel in the 1970s as a publisher, where he penned songs for a diversity of artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to the Four Tops. His well-crafted melodies were matched by his strengths as a lyricist, evoking strong imagery with more than a touch of organic whimsy

If you like Stephen Bishop or just a good mellow song with a great lyric then get this album. You can get some good stuff on a greatest hits album but you'll miss some real gems if you pass this by. It really seems that he put an awful lot of heart into this. It's not just songs it's part of the artist you're hearing. This is not the first time! I bought Orleans two album best of "Still the One" and all the songs from Orleans first album are on it except "Bum.
