Eddie Money is the self-titled debut album by American musician Eddie Money, recorded in the summer months and originally released in late 1977 on manager Bill Graham's Wolfgang label, distributed by Columbia Records. The album was certified double platinum in 1989. The album was a studio rendering of Money's live show at the time. Featuring almost entirely original compositions that the band had written and honed during their live performances in Bay Area venues.

Money, son of a New York City cop, had a rock & roll epiphany en route to following his dad's career path. The debut album, long on craft but not without inspiration, deservedly shot radio-ready tunes "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Baby Hold On" up the charts, the latter helped by former Elvin Bishop songmate Jo Baker. The key tune is the spirited "Wanna Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star," which spells out the game plan.

Eddie Money signed with CMC International in 1997, releasing the requisite live re-recording album Shakin' with the Money Man that year. Two years later, he delivered Ready Eddie, his first collection of original material for the label that keeps the album rock torch burning. Apart from the clean, state of the art production and slightly heavier guitars, Ready Eddie could have been released at the peak of Money's career in the early '80s - which may seem like a kind way of saying that this album sounds dated, but really means it's done in classic Eddie Money style
