Album · 1981 · 14 Songs. It finishes on three Giorgio Moroder–helmed sides: a remix of European Son and two versions (one radio, one 12-inch) of the big-in-Japan disco-ball Life in Tokyo. It’s fun to hear how in just two years (1978 and 1979) youngster Mick Karn crafted a style that altered how a whole generation of bassists approached their instruments and how singer David Sylvian dropped personae (from decadent glamster to disco glamster to urbane crooner) like prom dresses.

Label: Hansa ‎– HANLP 1. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Compilation. Some initial copies came with sticker attached, stating:: 'The Very Best of Japan: Includes 5 Tracks Never Previously Released On Album'. In early 1982 the sticker was changed to name the 3 most recent singles on Hansa - "European Son", "Quiet Life" and "Life In Tokyo".

Assemblage collects recordings from the band's early career (1977–1980) and Hansa Records re-released no fewer than six singles from Assemblage and Japan's back catalogue between 1981 and 1983. Both "Life in Tokyo", a collaboration with renowned disco producer Giorgio Moroder, and "European Son" were remixed and re-issued twice. The compilation reached No. 26 in the UK and spent 46 weeks on the album chart, being certified Gold by the .

Released September 1981. Assemblage Tracklist. 1. Adolescent Sex Lyrics. Assemblage is a compilation album released by Hansa records in 1981 featuring hit singles, B-sides and live favourites from 1977-80. By 1981 Japan had switched labels to join Virgin, but Virgin and Hansa still alternated single releases after this move. The versions of All Tomorrow’s Parties and European Son which appear here were unique to this album at the time of its release. The album was a success, becoming one of Japan’s most commercially successful albums to date.

Assemblage is a term with uses in several fields: Assemblage (art). Assemblage (composition). Assemblage (archaeology). Assemblage (philosophy), a philosophical concept developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Faunal assemblage, Floral assemblage, or Fossil assemblage (archaeology and paleontology), a collection of animal or plant fossil taxa found together, the vertical range of which may define biostratigraphic Assemblage zones.

Japan - assemblage vinyl album lp ex/ex. 1 day. Japan Vinyl LP Assemblage 1981 Good Condition. Japan Assemblage Vinyl LP EMI/Fame Records FA413 (Giorgio Moroder). JAPAN ASSEMBLAGE Hansa German LP VG+/VG. As its title indicates, this album is made from different sources and assembled together. While there are some singles-only tracks, others come from albums, the whole thing being a bit of a compilation that was released in 81, a bit as a new album (if I understood well).

Japan: 'Assemblage' & 'Exorcising Ghosts' original vinyl compilation albums. Assemblage - released 1981 on the Hansa label (HANLP 1). Vinyl and sleeve in good condition. Exorcising Ghosts - double album released 1984 on the Virgin label (VGD 3510). Gatefold sleeve, includes lyric sheet for 3 Japan albums.
