Life as We Know It is the twelfth studio album by REO Speedwagon, released in 1987 (see 1987 in music). It features "That Ain't Love" and "In My Dreams", both of which were Top 20 hits while "Variety Tonight" reached on the Hot 100. REO Speedwagon is now definitely an established name and plays in sold-out stadiums. In 1988 Alan Gratzer REO Speedwagon drummer suddenly leaves to focus on the domestic life. He opened a restaurant (Mona Lisa) in Santa Barbara. His replacement is the Santana drummer Graham Lear. Also released in Japan, DSD remaster Cd 2009. Life As We Know It. Epic Records.

They named the band REO Speedwagon, from the REO Speed Wagon, a flatbed truck Doughty had studied in transportation history, and the initials are those of its founder Ransom E. Olds. Rather than pronouncing REO as a single word as the motor company did, they chose to spell out the name with the individual letters each pronounced ("R-E-O"). An ad in the school newspaper produced their first job, a fraternity party that turned into a food fight. 1987's Life as We Know It saw a decline in sales, but still managed to provide the band with the top-20 hits "That Ain't Love" (. and "In My Dreams" (. The Hits (1988) is a compilation album from REO Speedwagon. It contains new tracks "Here With Me" and "I Don't Want to Lose Yo. "Here with Me" cracked the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the top ten on the Adult Contemporary chart.
