Salvatore Cardillo, Riccardo Cordiferro. 7. Torna a Surriento, for voice & piano (or orchestra).

Release with misspelt "Neopolitan" instead of "Neapolitan" on back cover. One difference more to the other release is the track A8 title, written correctly on the side 1 label as on back cover (misspelt on label of the other release: "Palami D'Amore", missing an "r"). Catalogue number SPA 313 appears on back cover and spine, SP. 13 (with dot) on labels.

Many of the Neapolitan songs are world-famous because they were taken abroad by emigrants from Naples and southern Italy roughly between 1880 and 1920. The music also was popularized abroad by performers such as Enrico Caruso, who took to singing the popular music of his native city as encores at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the. early 1900s  . Mario Lanza recorded an acclaimed selection of 12 Neapolitan songs on his 1959 album, Mario! Lanza At His Best.

HOWEVER, A LOT OF DI STEFANO NEAPOLITAN SONGS RECORDED FOR EMI HAS BEEN OMITTED, particularly the mono recordings from 1953 and 1957 (some have been included). A favourite of mine is Silenzio Cantatore which is NOT included. It is puzzling with one of the cd's being only 40+ minutes long, short by any standard, so much other wonderful material was left out.
