Swindle will release his second album on June 16th. A member of influential grime collective Butterz, the South London DJ and producer will follow up 2009's Curriculum Vitae with Long Live The Jazz, to be released through Deep Medi Musik. Sticking by his signature sound, the album looks set to combine contemporary grime and dubstep with funk and jazz elements, with Swindle citing Parliament Funkadelic, George Clinton and Roy Ayers as key influences.

Album: Long Live The Jazz. Format: MP3 320Kbps, FLAC. FLAC (306 mb): hitfile: download.

The album was built over a three year period. The opening track ‘What We Do’ became the track that set the scene for each studio session, a way of Swindle explaining what he was setting out to achieve. No More Normal follows a spate of projects where Swindle’s taken on the role of producer for other artists. That’s included Kojey Radical, for his single ‘Water’; Joel Culpepper, whose ‘Woman’ live session for Colors has clocked up 4M Youtube streams and counting, D Double E with three tracks on his debut album ‘Jackum’ and Mahalia’s EP ‘Seasons’. Excluded from school for having way too much energy his early steps into music were aided by his blues guitarist father, who gave him lessons on the guitar and whose record collection – made up of soul and jazz touchstones - provided vital inspiration for his debut LP "Long Live The Jazz", released on Mala’s Deep Medi label in 2013.

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle is the soundtrack album of the film of the same name by the Sex Pistols. By the time the soundtrack was being prepared, Johnny Rotten (Lydon) had left the band and refused to participate in the project, so the "proper" Sex Pistols tracks were done by taking Lydon's vocals from the October 1976 demo session recordings and rerecording their instrumental tracks (done by Paul Cook and Steve Jones).

Next week Friday 14 sees the launch of Swindle‘s second LP, Long Live The Jazz on Mala’s Deep Medi imprint, and to celebrate, Butterz and BassLaced are throwing an epic launch party @ Fire in Vauxhall. The launch party is headlined by a debut live set from Swindle who will be fusing all of his musical influences together with modern day Grime and Dubstep resulting in live interpretations of old favourites and future classics from the new album such as Do The Jazz, Forest Funk and Ignition

Long Live The Jazz (Intro). Swindle: Although this is one of the first tracks on the album it was one of the final additions in the writing process. After coming home from our last Butterz party at Cable I used the audio from my set to build this track around a sample I took from the crowd. I then invited a friend of my Dad, Paul Batik, to play a trumpet solo which he totally smashed and I guess this track sums up what I’m trying to say with ‘Long Live The Jazz’. This wouldn’t exist without the experience of that party.

Pretty fitting, right? For 36 minutes, Swindle commands a drummer, a horns section, and bass player, all who put an impressive spin on the album's cuts. Swindle even shows how great he is at the keys.

Your album is entitled Long Live the Jazz, what’s the concept behind that? Swindle : Well, it’s a little different to what you would think actually. Jazz for me is an expression of freedom. There is no format and I feel the same about the rules of my life – to have no boundaries, like 'long live the jazz. I got kicked out of school; I’ve lost more jobs than I’ve released records. Let’s chat a bit about the Deep Medi connection.
