Point of Departure is a studio album by American jazz pianist and composer Andrew Hill, recorded and released in 1965 on the Blue Note label. Point of Departure was reissued on CD by Blue Note in 1988 and again in 1999 when recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder remastered the album, adding alternate takes of "New Monastery", "Flight 19", and "Dedication".

Our Point of Departure, HIM's fourth full-length release, takes a departure from their previous effort, Sworn Eyes. Here, leader Doug Scharin (drums, mixing) is surrounded by Carlo Cennamo (sax), Fred Erskine (bass, trumpet), Sean Meadows (guitar), and Jon Theodore (percussion). Exit the loops and the hip-hop grooves: The music on Our Point of Departure sounds almost completely non-manipulated (except for "Persistent Life")

Our Point Of Departure’ is the fourth full length album from HIM. The album incorporates elements of jazz improvisation, dub punctuation and electronic soundscapes, relying heavily on the synthesis of the collected influences of this diverse combination of people. The original tracks for the session were initiated by Doug Scharin on drums, percussion and electronics and Fred Erskine on bass, trumpets, keyboards and guitar - fleshed out by Carlo Cennamo on tenor sax and keyboards, Jon Theodore on percussion and keyboards and Sean Meadows on guitar. Our Point Of Departure’ was recorded at the.

Our Point Of Departure by Mark Corroto, published on October 1, 2000. Point Of Departure follows up their 1999 Sworn Eyes and their work on various compilations. Teo Macero played the part of Miles Davis electronics engineer and producer in the late 1960s and early 70s. Here it’s Doug Scharin who cuts and splices the music laid down by the assembled musicians. The 1999 Sworn Eyes recording featured Jeff Parker and Rob Mazurek of Chicago Underground and Isotope 217 fame. Where their previous effort was all spacey and ambient dub textured, Our Point Of Departure brings it in a percussion laden stream.
