Under Tom Jones, Godre’r Aran were primarily a Penillion or Cerdd Dant party, with their own distinctive voice. But when Eirian Owen, a Llanuwchllyn girl herself, took over in 1976, she transformed the choir into a highly professional and disciplined outfit, without losing any of its original spirit. Having triumphed several times in the National and International Eisteddfod, as well as in many other choral competitions, their discography is impressive, and so is their long tradition of successful overseas tours
