20th Century Blues is the fifteenth studio album by Robin Trower. All songs written by Robin Trower, except "Reconsider Baby". Robin Trower – guitar. Livingstone Brown – bass, vocals, keyboards. This was the sixth album cover created by Paul Olsen. When asked to create a cover for the album, Paul presented transparencies of a batch of paintings, intending for the photos to be a starting point. However, Robin picked a specific one that he wanted.

The most important influence on 20th century music? African Americans and the musical culture they brought to this country – developed within the bonds of slavery. Even before the 20th century began, blues music was evolving across the country out of the traditional African slave spirituals, work calls and chants. Of all the developing genres, the blues would be the most far-reaching, with its influence felt in everything from jazz to rock, country music to rhythm and blues, and classical music. Jazz saw its early development in the African American communities all throughout the South – with rhythms reflecting the diversity of cultural influences from West Africa to the West Indies, from ragtime to the blues. With similar roots to blues (and blues as one of its roots), jazz also took from another American art form – ragtime – to create its unique syncopated sound.

The American Century is a characterization of the period since the middle of the 20th century as being largely dominated by the United States in political, economic, and cultural terms. It is comparable to the description of the period 1815–1914 as Britain's Imperial Century. The United States' influence grew throughout the 20th century, but became especially dominant after the end of World War II, when only two superpowers remained, the United States and the Soviet Union

Chamber music: Chamber music, music composed for small ensembles of instrumentalists. In its original sense chamber music referred to music composed for the home, as opposed to that written for the theatre or church. The Bartók quartets are among the major chamber-music works of the 20th century. The third principal influence, that of the Russian-born Igor Stravinsky (1882–1971), was felt perhaps less in chamber music than in orchestral, for Stravinsky composed fewer than a dozen works in the field. The chamber music by American composers has in general reflected the international styles mentioned above. One exception is seen in two quartets, a piano trio, and several violin sonatas by Charles Ives (1874–1954), who maintained a style of great originality through his long lifetime.

Chamber Music from Spain, Argentina, and Mexico from the early and mid 20th century by Turina, Piazzolla, and Chávez. Please check your internet connection and refresh the page. You might also try disabling any ad blockers. You can visit our support center if you're having problems.
