Harry James And His Orchestra 1948-49 is a double album by American trumpeter Harry James with The Harry James Orchestra. The album consists of live radio transcripts recorded during 1948 and 1949 and was released in 1969 by Big Band Landmarks (Volumes X-XI). As bop surpassed swing by the late 1940s, James was surprisingly open to its influence.

Distinguishing feature of this submission: Pressed by Columbia Record Pressing Plant, Kings Mill, 1946-1948 "Pressings from Kings Mills have several of the same typesetting fonts on the center labels as used by the Bridgeport plant, except a different font was used for the catalogue number, the matrix number was set in a serif rather than a sans-serif font, and the overall. layout was generally clunkier than on Bridgeport typesetting jobs. Both sides recorded November 13, 1946 in Hollywood, CA. Track.
