It's About Time is the ninth studio album by the American band Chic released on September 28, 2018 through Virgin EMI Records. It was written and conducted by Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers. The lead single, "Till the World Falls", featuring Mura Masa, Cosha and Vic Mensa, was released on June 22, 2018. According to Rodgers, It's About Time is the first of two albums that make up the "new Chic experience".

While the lush, delicate tracks on It's About Time generally don't live up to the standards of Katche's most famous employers, there are enough good moments on this 1992 release to warrant a recommendation to fans of this accomplished musician and his famous cohorts.

It's Album Time is, as advertised, his first full-length album. The title sets the tone: Casual, confident, and unburdened by the imagined need for significance that scares so many good dance producers into losing their cool when given a bigger platform. Most of the music on it could be classified as disco, with shades of cocktail lounge, exotica, surf instrumentals, and other styles that favor whimsy and novelty over sober artistic expression  . Despite recycling four of its twelve tracks from previously released singles and EPs, It's Album Time has a linear, cohesive feel. Instead of trying to top "Strandbar" or "Inspector Norse", Terje ties them together with short interstitial tracks-valleys that give perspective to the mountains.

It’s About Time’ – the band’s first new album in over 25 years – he shows no signs of ageing gracefully; he’s still well up for a big hoedown. I Dance My Dance’, ‘Do You Wanna Dance’ and, er, ‘Dance Wiv Me’ sent the tone for a record that makes no attempt to reinvent the wheel, nor dares to stray from his patented disco guitar ‘chuck-chucka’. Knowing his limits/legacy makes for a more enjoyable listen. Over the past few years, Rodgers has had to overcome with several health issues – including prostate cancer – so hearing him in back in the recording booth is a triumph in itself.

It’s About Time isn’t the only Chic album about to be released. It will shortly be sharing space on record shop shelves with The Chic Organisation 1977-79, a lavish box set containing the band’s first three albums alongside a collection of rarities, a facsimile of a promotional 12-inch and We Are Family, the 1979 Sister Sledge album that may well be the greatest Chic production of all. It comes complete with not one, not two but three essays by prominent cultural critics on Chic’s significance. It was all noticeably different last time Chic released an album  . The long-awaited album project from Nile Rodgers (pictured) and CHIC, aptly titled ‘It’s About Time’, is finally getting a release on September 7 via Virgin EMI. It features an eclectic range of collaborators, including Californian rapper Anderson. Paak, Craig David, Stefflon Don and Roc Nation’s Vic Mensa. The album cover, seen below, recreates the artwork of the band’s eponymous debut album with models Duckie Thot and Jazzelle Zanaughtti. The group is currently touring the UK and performed its new track ‘Boogie All Night’ on Jools Holland, which features NAO’s soaring vocals and Guernsey-raised producer Mura Masa. Its called a 'riggers belt' because several years ago, someone went to their units rigger shed and said " can you make me a belt using parachute webbing and hardware?" They were made by riggers hence the name. And all this time I thought it was just for holding my pants over my ass. Josh.
