El Producto is the debut extended play (EP) by Australian electronic music group The Avalanches. It was released on 8 December 1997 via Wondergram Records and distributed by Shock Records. El Producto was the second release by the group and included their debut single, "Rock City", which had appeared on Trifekta Records two months prior. Rock City" was the only single released from the EP, the band had "started performing widely and attracted a long term recording deal".

A rock of 100 cubic meters reached the cultivated land. Because of the increasing danger, resident persons in the threatened area were evacuated for several days. On 6th July 2001, the largest rockfall happened since 1843. About 200,000 cubic meters of rock crashed down. Spectators from all quarters had come to watch the spectacle from a safe distance. No one was directly harmed. The biggest rock avalanche happened from 3rd to 4th September 1843. Although not much has happened, it was decided to establish a new part of the village, the so called 'Neudorf'. That was a bit further away from the danger zone. Since nothing happened again, the old village named 'Altdorf' remained inhabited. On the night of 1st to 2nd July 2001, it happened again. Some 50,000 cubic meters of rock fell down the 'Gross Rüfi' scree. A rock of 100 cubic meters reached the cultivated land.
