Jethro tull, studio albums, 1971. Aqualung, to many, is Tull’s masterpiece. The title track and Locomotive Breath, with their catchy riffs, would be joined by My God, Cross-Eyed Mary, and Hymn 43 as classic rock staples.

Memories of 29 years behind the scenes with Jethro Tull by crew stalwart Kenny Wylie. The Maison Rouge Mobile Studio engineer Pete Smith describes it's construction and use on the album recordings. The all-girl string quartet in the studio and on the road recalled by violinist Liz Edwards. Touring 'Minstrel In The Gallery': a gig list from June to November 1975. Lyrics for the album and bonus tracks.

Aqualung is the fourth studio album by the rock band Jethro Tull, released in 1971. It is regarded, despite the band's disagreement, as a concept album featuring a central theme of "the distinction between religion and God". The album's "dour musings on faith and religion" have marked it as "one of the most cerebral albums ever to reach millions of rock listeners". Aqualung's success signalled a turning point in the band's career, which went on to become a major radio and touring act.

As with previous anniversary sets this comes in a case-bound DVD book that includes an 80-page booklet featuring track-by-track annotations by Ian Anderson, recollections by roadie Kenny Wylie, Maison Rouge maintenance engineer Pete Smith, and string section member Liz Edwards plus lyrics, tour itinerary and rare and unseen photographs.

Or at least the Jethro Tull leader has good reason to believe that it’s haunted. The moral of this story? Don’t expect anyone to volunteer to help you with laundry in the next world, either. Meanwhile, few albums from any time in the Rock Era continue to satisfy quite so well as Jethro Tull‘s masterpiece Aqualung. Ian Anderson smartly wrote songs for all seasons for a superb band, including the timeless rockers Aqualung, Cross-Eyed Mary, Locomotive Breath, and Hymn but perfectly paced the album with tasty acoustic classics like Wond’ring Aloud and Mother Goose.

Minstrel in the Gallery is the eighth studio album by British band Jethro Tull, recorded in April and released in September 1975. The album goes in a different direction from their previous work War Child (1974), with the orchestration being replaced by a string quartet conducted by David Palmer.

The new Tull box, titled 50 for 50, surveys the group's long history with a roughly chronological track listing that was personally curated by frontman Ian Anderson
