Collective Soul (sometimes referred to as the Blue Album to differentiate from the second self-titled album) is the second studio album by Collective Soul. It became the band's highest selling album to date, going Triple-Platinum, and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts. The singles "December," "The World I Know" and "Where the River Flows" all reached on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, while the first two singles also became major pop hits.

The album was a success and went on to achieve double platinum status. Since this early success, Collective Soul have gone on to achieve enormous mainstream recognition. They have since recorded seven Number one rock hits. Some of their most famous singles include ‘Breathe’, ‘Wasting Time’, ‘Gel’, ‘December’ and, of course, smash hit ‘Shine’. In 2004 the band created their own independent music label, El music Group, that allowed them greater control over their music and what they released

Collective Soul's next album, 1995's self titled album, instantly reached platinum status and created a series of hits "December", "The World I Know" and "Gel". The band went on to release a total of 8 albums, including 1999's Dosage, which contained their highest ranking hit to date "Heavy". Through the years, Collective Soul has played in concert while on tour and has even made appearances on the festival circuit, including a 1999 appearance at the famous Woodstock Festival.

Collective soul in concert: Collective Soul have married monster riffage to memorable hooks ever since they started dominating airwaves in the ‘90s. Today, the hard rock standard-bearers are still bringing the same ferocity that made them famous to all their live shows. On standouts like Shine, The World I Know, and December, lead singer Ed Roland’s killer pipes are guaranteed to floor audiences. They immediately took to the studio to work on their polished 1995 self-titled album, which became a triple-platinum success with singles like December, The World I Know and Where the River Flows. In addition to the four standouts from their first two albums, the group went on to have three more on the Modern Rock chart: Precious Declaration, Listen, and Heavy.
