Queen of Golden Dogs -the third album from Vessel- was conceived, developed and rendered into life over eighteen months of solitude in rural Wales. In essence, it is an exploration of living a life devoted to uncertainty, curiosity and change. Influenced by a range of writers, the painter Remedios Varo, and a new love, the album is a marked departure from Vessel’s previous work. The world of QoGD is saturated with colour; oscillating between grief, bombast and fierce joy, this is music shot through with both sincerity and irreverence. Whilst traces of his sonic signature remain, there is much.

Mad Dogs & Englishmen is a live album by Joe Cocker, released in 1970. The album's title is drawn from the 1931 Noël Coward song of the same name. Only four songs of the 16 on the original album were drawn from his first two studio albums. Besides the contributions of bandmate and musical director Leon Russell, it draws equally from rock (the Rolling Stones, Traffic, Bob Dylan, the Beatles) and soul (Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding).

Got our rock plumage on last night for our album release in Toronto! Thanks to our friend Peggy Messing for capturing this.

The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs" is one of Aesop's Fables, numbered 87 in the Perry Index, a story that also has a number of Eastern analogues. Many other stories contain geese that lay golden eggs, though certain versions change them for hens or other birds that lay golden eggs. The tale has given rise to the idiom 'killing the goose that lays the golden eggs', which refers to the short-sighted destruction of a valuable resource, or to an unprofitable action motivated by greed.

Their debut album Everything in 3 Parts began their rising popularity in the indie scene with the single "Can't Get Your Face Out of My Head". Even more success would come with the release of their follow-up single '"Yeah!". In 2006, the band released their second album Big Eye Little Eye. The first single from the new release is "Never Meant Any Harm". The band is known for their wild, energetic live shows and were labelled as one of the best live bands in Canada by CHART Magazine

Deservedly well-known for their celebratory live shows, Toronto’s Golden Dogs somehow manage to capture the energy of those sweat-soaked performances on their second full-length effort, Big Eye Little Eye. Much like its predecessor, 2004’s Everything in 3 Parts, it’s an infectiously eclectic pop gem, bursting at the seams with catchy tunes to spare. Expect to experience frustration by attempting to sit still during the bouncy electro pop of "Never Meant Any Harm,” the Sloan-esque cover of Wings’ "1985,” or the high-energy stomp of album opener "Dynamo
