Album Blackwater Park. Blackwater Park Lyrics. Confessor Of the tragedies in man Lurking in the core of us all The last dying call for the ever lost Brief encounters, bleeding pain. Lepers coiled neath the trees Dying men in bewildered soliloquies Perversions bloom around the bend Seekers, lost in their quest Ghosts of friends frolic under the waning moon. It is the year of death Wielding his instruments Stealth sovereign reaper Touching us with ease.

Blackwater Park is named after a '70s hard rock band from Germany. The album was recorded at the same studio and at the same time that Soilwork recorded their album A Predator's Portrait. Recording information: Recorded at Fredman Studio, August-October 2000. Mastered at Mastering Room.

Not even Bleak, the second best song on the album, with its almost middle-eastern influences and haunting guitar lines touches what The Leper Affinity is. That’s not to say of course, that it’s a bad song – it’s a great song, but pales in comparison. Harvest, the first acoustic backed number and third offering on Blackwater Park, exposes my other gripe with this album - Åkerfeldt’s clean voice. It sounds, unsurprisingly, like a man in his thirties singing with a pretty voice. Again, there’s nothing wrong with it, it even fits the music, but it’s so lifeless and distant that its presence seems.

Progressive Death Opeth. Opeth's magnum opus, and the record that got me into extreme metal. An essential that must be obtained by any means. The sheer beauty and musicianship that is shown here is indescribable, not to mention the amount of differentiation and diversity that can be found on every single track, from start to finish, creating a perfectly cohesive and audible work of art. This is the essential metal album, period.

Blackwater Park is the fifth studio album by Swedish band Opeth. It was released on February 27, 2001, through Music for Nations and Koch Records. The album marks the first collaboration between Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson and the band, as Wilson had been brought in to produce the album, which led to a considerable shift in Opeth's musical style. Blackwater Park did not chart in North America or the United Kingdom. The album had two singles released from it: "The Drapery Falls" and "Still Day Beneath the Sun". Blackwater Park was originally released on February 27, 2001. This was the first Opeth album to be released in North America at the same time as it was in the rest of the world. It has been released on compact disc and vinyl record formats.
