Sandy Posey (born Sandra Lou Posey, June 18, 1944) is an American popular singer who enjoyed success in the 1960s with singles such as her 1966 recording of Martha Sharpe's compositions "Born a Woman" and "Single Girl". She is often described as a country singer, although, like Skeeter Davis (to whom she has been frequently compared), her output has varied. Later in her career, the term "countrypolitan", associated with the "Nashville sound", was sometimes applied

Born to Be with You is an album by Dion, released in 1975. Six of the eight tracks were produced by Phil Spector, who had expressed admiration of Dion's earlier work with his doo-wop outfit, Dion and the Belmonts. The recording sessions were lengthy and chaotic, and on completion in 1974 Spector himself shelved the release for 12 months, only to find the album was largely met with indifference by the music establishment at the time.

Posey was born in Jasper, Alabama, in 1944. In her teens she relocated to Memphis, where she secured a job as a receptionist in . .She moved to Monument Records in 1976 and later to Warner Bros. where she hit again with a series of oldies revivals - the Chordettes' "Born to Be with You" and a medley of "Love, Love, Love" and "Chapel of Love. Her last hit was in 1979 with "Love Is Sometimes Easy. In 1983, she signed to the independent label Audiograph and released her final solo album. She then stayed busy as a session singer and infrequently toured with her husband, Wade Cummings, an Elvis impersonator.

Dion had gone four years without a hit when he was paired with producer Phil Spector in 1974, for an album that all concerned were convinced would relaunch both men's careers. Spector himself was especially bullish about the project, returning to his old stomping grounds at Gold Star Studios and recalling engineer Stan Ross to the mixing desk for the first time since they recorded the Paris Sisters together in 1962.

Sandy Posey was born Sandra Lou Posey in Jasper, Alabama. She graduated from high school in West Memphis, AR in 1962. Posey obtained work as a session singer, after she was recommended by an aunt to an acquaintance who worked in television. Her first single for the label inauspiciously peaked at No. 93 but in 1978 and 1979 enjoyed three top 30 country hits before this brief comeback faded away with the new decade.
