Hardy Fox (born Hardy Winfred Fox J. March 29, 1945–October 30, 2018) was a musician. He was co-founder of the band The Residents as well as their primary composer. During his time with The Residents, and after leaving the band in 2015, he recorded as a solo artist under many names, such as Charles Bobuck, Combo de Mechanico, Sonido de la Noche, Black Tar, and more. Hardy Fox used to be composer for The Residents. He left the group when he didn't feel fit enough for touring. Since then, he has released many albums under the name Charles Bobuck, switching to his real name Hardy Fox when his albums became more personal. The first, self-titled and also known under the name Heart, is a study of the young Hardy Fox, an album about Love. The second, Nachtzug is about his last days touring with The Residents
