Members Lukas Pearse (bass) and Dale Hussey (drums) started the band with singer/songwriter Alison Outhit, and made their name known in Nova Scotia by showcasing Outhit's punk influences and Pearse's bass playing with a steak knife. The band released their first CD, Burners On, in 1995. Although Outhit was at first the main songwriter, the other two members added their writing to the second album, Six More Weeks of Winter.
