John Prine is the first album by American country/folk singer-songwriter John Prine, issued by Atlantic Records in 1971. In 2003, the album was ranked number 452 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Pink Cadillac (album). Pink Cadillac was produced by Knox Phillips and Jerry Phillips. Their father, legendary Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, produced two of the album's tracks. Recording took place at Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis between January and May 1979. In the Great Days: The John Prine Anthology liner notes, Prine recalls that "Automobile" was inspired by Elvis Presley's first record: "I think I was playing "That's All Right, Mama" on my guitar and putting my own words to i. "Saigon" tells the story of a Vietnam vet who is probably suffering from PTSD and is unsuccessfully adjusting to civilian life.

John Prine's best album, no doubt. Recorded in the land of The King with Knox, Jerry, and yes, Mr. Sam Phillips. You want to hear the genius of Sam Phillips? Listen to "Saigon", a draaaaaged out track that stopped even Alex Chilton in his tracks. This is pure rockabilly music, the real thing. The Prine fans that hate this album, I dunno, maybe they wanted him to keep singing "Illegal Smile".

BPM Profile Pink Cadillac. Album starts at 88BPM, ends at 173BPM (+85), with tempos within the -BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing). Recent albums by John Prine. The Tree of Forgiveness.

Pink Cadillac - the sequel to John Prine’s finest record, last year’s Bruised Orange - is the first major album that rock & roll’s original master producer, Sam Phillips, has had a hand in since the Sixties. That’s why it’s so painful to count it an almost unqualified disaster.
