Round About Midnight is an album by jazz trumpeter Miles Davis that was released by Columbia in March 1957. At the Newport Jazz Festival in 1955, Davis performed the song "'Round Midnight" as part of an all-star jam session, with the song's composer Thelonious Monk, along with Connie Kay and Percy Heath of the Modern Jazz Quartet, Zoot Sims, and Gerry Mulligan. Davis's solo received a positive reception from many jazz fans and critics

Directions is a compilation album by American jazz musician Miles Davis, released in 1981 by Columbia Records. It collects previously unreleased outtakes that Davis recorded between 1960 and 1970. Directions was the last of a series of compilation albums - mostly consisting of, at that time, previously unreleased music - that Columbia released to bridge Davis' recording hiatus that ended with The Man with the Horn in July 1981.

Circle In The Round" is a track that makes this double album worth getting all by itself. I can't believe this was recorded in 1967. Check out the lineup with Shorter on sax, Williams on drums, Hancock on celeste, Carter on bass and Beck on guitar. And yes Miles of course on trumpet. I adore this track and it sounds nothing like a Miles Davis tune. This is from 1970 and is laid back with some sitar ! Yes I wasn't expecting that from a Miles Davis song.
