Henry Kaiser ‎– Guitars. Label: Mystery Tape Laboratory ‎– none. In a way they were studies for Fred Frith and my WHO NEEDS ENEMIES? album. Many of the pieces, though, were made purely for my entertainment and pleasure. I never intended for anyone other than myself to hear any of this stuff. I hope you'll find it entertaining and amusing. Henry Kaiser Oakland, California.

Da um certo trabalho, mas todos gostam de ver a construção de uma guitarra hehe. Yesterday at 07:31 ·. See all.

He established the Kaiser Shipyards, which built Liberty ships during World War II, after which he formed Kaiser Aluminum and Kaiser Steel. Kaiser organized Kaiser Permanente health care for his workers and their families. He led Kaiser-Frazer followed by Kaiser Motors, automobile companies known for the safety of their designs.

Henry Kaiser biography Henry Kaiser (born 19 September 1952, Oakland, California) is an American guitarist and composer. Since taking up the guitar in 1972, Mr. Kaiser has built reputation as one of the foremost musicians of his time. Some of his musical sources include traditional blues, East Asian, Classical North Indian and Hawaiian music, free jazz, free improvisation, American steel-string concert guitar, and 20th century classical. This album was my second foray into Henry kaiser's music. This record has Kaiser programming most of the music into a Synclavier, then adding his bizarre, but calculated guitar solos over those tracks. The result is incredible. Roadside Picnic is a moody piece with guitarist Bruce Anderson assisting with guitars. Free To Choose is a light piece, with delicate tuned percussion sounds providing the backdrop.

Henry Kaiser, born in Oakland, California, on 19 September 1952, is a widely-recorded experimental guitarist and frequent collaborator with other musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area. He is considered a member of the "first generation" of American free improvisors, reflecting influences from European free players including, among others, Derek Bailey and Evan Parker.

Notes

The selections on this cassette were recorded at home on a Teac 4-track cassette portastudio in late 1982 and 1983. All percussion is Linn Drum Computer or Roland TR-606. Electric guitar and bass guitar are the only other instruments present---no synthesizer or keyboards. I played all the instruments and programmed the drum machines.

Most of these pieces were made as technical exercises for the purpose of mastering the use of the Linn. In a way they were studies for Fred Frith and my WHO NEEDS ENEMIES? album. Many of the pieces, though, were made purely for my entertainment and pleasure. I never intended for anyone other than myself to hear any of this stuff. I hope you'll find it entertaining and amusing. Thanks to John Oswald for making it available.
