The Minutes (stylised as the minutes) is the eighth studio album by English singer-songwriter Alison Moyet, released on 3 May 2013 by Cooking Vinyl. It is the first album of new material released since 2007's The Turn, and a marked return to her electronic roots.

The Minutes are a three-piece rock band from Dublin, Ireland consisting of Mark Austin, Tom Cosgrave & Shane Kinsella. Début album Marcata was released on 20 May 2011 in Ireland. The Minutes were formed in 2006 in Dublin, Ireland. After several years of performing live in Dublin, the band recorded their debut album in October 2009 at Marcata Recordings in Upstate New York.

Minutes is an album by British singer Elkie Brooks. Minutes was Brooks' first contemporary album since Live and Learn in 1979. A&M wanted her to stick to the winning formula of the Pearls albums, but Brooks had other ideas. She hired the producer and band to create what was an experimental album for the time, a mixture of pop tunes and dark 1980s rock. A&M had little faith in the album and withheld promotion, focusing on her forthcoming album, the more commercial Screen Gems.

The album was produced by Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin. Minutes to Midnight was the band's follow-up album to Meteora and features a shift in the group's musical direction. For the band, the album marks a beginning of deviation from their signature nu metal sound. Minutes to Midnight takes its title from the Doomsday Clock.

A&M wanted her to stick to the winning formula of the Pearls albums but Brooks had other ideas and recruited her own choice of producer and band to create what was an experimental album for the time. A mixture of solid pop tunes and dark 1980s rock, A&M had little faith in the product and held back promotion focusing on her forthcoming album, the safer and more commercial Screen Gems. Two singles were released and with no promotion, neither entered the charts.
