Originally formed when Paul King and Colin Earl departed Mungo Jerry in 1972, the King Earl Boogie Band have seen their ups and downs in the decades since then, including the loss of one half of their namesakes in 1996; King departed following a tremendous showing at the Cropredy festival that year, leaving Earl to fly the nomenclatorial flag alone. And it must be said that the subsequent incarnation of the band does lack some of the idiosyncrasy that King brought to the show. This release, however, proves that there was a lot more to the group than him.

Loaded is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Velvet Underground, released in November 1970 by Atlantic Records' subsidiary label Cotillion. It was the final album recorded featuring founding member and main songwriter Lou Reed, who left shortly before its release. Loaded was ranked 110 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

hands down the band. I’ll be back again and again!

King recorded a solo album, Been in the Pen Too Long in 1972, and left Mungo Jerry shortly afterwards. He and the group’s keyboard player Colin Earl (born 6 May 1942, Hampton) formed the King Earl Boogie Band with guitarist Dave Lambert, bassist Russell John Brown and washboard player Joe Rush, who had been a part-time Mungo member. The group disbanded a few months later, and Lambert later joined Strawbs. King and Earl later formed Skeleton Krew, though in the 1990s they reverted to the name of King Earl Boogie Band. King retired to Cornwall in 1996, though since then he has occasionally joined his colleagues and former members for one-off gigs, sometimes under the name Skeleton Krew or Skeleton Crew.
