Street Fighting Years is the eighth studio album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released in May 1989 by record label A&M. Produced by Trevor Horn, the album reached the top of the UK Albums Chart. Street Fighting Years was recorded during yet another period of personnel change for Simple Minds, and was notably the last of the band's albums to feature keyboard der member Mick MacNeil.

Includes "Street Fighting Years" CD, BBC Radio 1 Special Interview Cassettes & 64 Page Songbook. Special thanks to: Stewart Copeland - "The Rhythmatist", Lou Reed for cameo vocal on "This Is Your Land" (courtesy of Sire/WEA Records). CD: Made In Scotland March '88 - March '89. "Street Fighting Years" song written in memory of Victor Jara.

Street Fighting Years' is written in memory of Victor Jara. Source of graphic: The Beauty Of Fractals by Peitgen Richter. 2nd cat listed only on back cover. 3rd cat listed on inner sleeve. Street Fighting Years ‎(Cass, Album, Unofficial). Soul Crying out ‎(7", Single).

Their first proper new release since the commercial breakthrough of Once Upon a Time (a live album intervened) and Simple Minds makes a decidedly, noncommercial follow-up. Street Fighting Years is a moody, dark affair. The music is yearning and most of the songs are politically charged lyrically. It was a move that could (and did) bring commercial failure. However, Street Fighting Years is an artistic and elegant album that might lack immediate choruses but draws in the listener. The title track takes some dramatic turns that give the gentle melody added thrust

Street Fighting Years. 1. Street Fighting Years (Remastered 2002). 5 Album Set (Sons and Fascination/New Gold Dream/Sparkle in the Rain/Once Upon a Time/Street Fighting Years).

Street Fighting Years" shows Simple Minds a little more thoughtful and attentive to the movements around.

New Gold Dream (81/82/83/84). Celebrate - Live at the Sse Hydro Glasgow.
