Glittering Prize 81/92 is a compilation album by Simple Minds, released in 1992. It spans the period from Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call (the first album recorded by Simple Minds for Virgin Records) to Real Life. The album omits the earliest period of Simple Minds' recording career, which yielded three albums released on Arista (only reissues are on Virgin).

Glittering Prize" is a 1982 hit single by the Scottish rock group Simple Minds, and released on their fifth studio album New Gold Dream, released the same year. The song reached in the United Kingdom, but hit the Top 10 in Australia, New Zealand and Norway.

Glittering Prize 1981-1992. Back in 1992, Virgin released a 16-track compilation entitled Glittering Prize 81/92; it was a . chart-topper, and permutations of this set, with slightly altered track listings, have appeared across the globe ever since. This truncated version, however, might well be the best of the batch. Apparently put together by a serious fan and experienced DJ, not only does it brilliantly showcase the band's oeuvre, it also beautifully captures the feel of their music and the core of their sound. As a greatest-hits album, this Glittering Prize is not one, but as a one-disc set that captures the band's soul, it can't be beat.
