Abacab is the eleventh studio album by English rock band Genesis, released on 18 September 1981 by Charisma Records. After their 1980 tour in support of their previous album, Duke (1980), the band took a break before they reconvened in 1981 to write and record a new album. Abacab is the first Genesis album recorded at The Farm, a recording studio bought by the group in Chiddingfold, Surrey

Cover Variation C This album comes in 4 different colour schemes with the same CAT although on the side there are different letters for different schemes, namely A, B, C, and D. This version has different pressing rings as well. Matrix, Runout (Side 1 Label): ST-A-814775

Duke showcased a new Genesis - a sleek, hard, stylish trio that truly sounded like a different band from its first incarnation - but Abacab was where this new incarnation of the band came into its own. Working with producer Hugh Padgham, the group escalated the innovations of Duke, increasing the pop hooks, working them seamlessly into the artiest rock here.

Having repeatedly listened to this album for the past few days, I can certainly understand the arguments about which musical genre to label Abacab.

Collins said that Abacab was the first album where the three members of the band really talked to each other and worked as a team. The band bought a place in Surrey, England that they turned into a recording studio, which they called The Farm. This song was written in the living room of the house. On this song and the others on the album, the drums were a lot more pronounced than on previous Genesis recordings, and the keyboards far less prominent

Abacab" is a song by the British rock band Genesis, released on 14 August 1981. It was produced by Genesis and distributed in the United States by Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group.
