Kroz ovu emisiju pokušat ćemo vam dočarati vrijeme o kojoj govori knjiga Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground, 1981-1991. Kao što i sam autor kaže, knjiga pokušava otkriti što se događalo u momentima između vrhunca punka i dolaska Nirvane koje su mnogi nazivali spasiteljima rock žanra ne znajući da ga nitko nije ni trebao spašavati. Knjiga se većinom fokusira na američke bendove koje ćete imati priliku poslušati u ovoj emisiji uz naravno još srodnih i sličnih glazbenih aktova. our band could be your life real names'd be proof me and mike watt played for.

Our band could be your life," sing the Minutemen, perfectly articulating punk's Everyman ideal. Guitarist D. Boon and bassist Mike Watt push each other to fast, funny and agitated heights on this 45-song opus. The first of Dylan's three late-career triumphs. Producer Daniel Lanois' dark, atmospheric settings envelop Dylan in a sonic fog appropriate to the isolation and distance he sings of in a ravaged, weary voice. The songs – especially "Love Sick" and "Not Dark Yet" – are ghostly but forceful.

In 1994, Little Brother Records released the Minutemen tribute CD and LP Our Band Could Be Your Life. The CD version included 33 tracks by artists covering Minutemen songs, plus a track with a Boon interview and a live version of the Minutemen song Badges. The LP version had 23 tracks, including the interview and Minutemen items. Several Minutemen album sleeves and covers, such as the Paranoid Time EP and What Makes a Man Start Fires? LP and the inner gatefold jacket for Double Nickels, feature drawings by noted artist Raymond Pettibon, who was at the time associated with the SST label, providing sleeves for Black Flag. Other album covers, like on The Punch Line, Project: Mersh, and 3-Way Tie (For Last), featured paintings by Boon.

Guitar & Bass Mods. D. Boon called those, ‘thinking out loud. The political part for D. Boon was how the band was structured. Obviously, we were just a power trio, but he wanted to make room for the drums and the bass. He liked the way the R&B guys restrained themselves-this idea of restraining yourself so you made room for the other guys in the band, instead of this hierarchy. Punk promoted independence and rule breaking, and paid lip service to anarchy. We could play anything-that was the idea-and still you could tell it was the Minutemen. During the gigs, there would be three or four times during the set when we’d play free jams for a minute or two. We did a lot of that. In 1991, he was backstage at the Ritz in NYC and stood next to Bootsy Collins. His life was never the same. Follow him on Twitter ealTzvi.
