Swing into Spring, formerly a Trip Down Memory Lane, is an intergenerational event held every spring in the St. James's Episcopal Church auditorium. Area seniors listen, watch, and dance as West Hartford's Hall High School Concert Jazz Band entertains with nostalgic tunes. Energy fills the room as our youth and seniors come together, break through generation barriers, and prove that jazz music can transcend age. Stay tuned for our next Swing into Spring date. Enter the swing music web board. With the release of Cafe Du Swing, the Texas Gypsies have accomplished what few bands have even tried, let alone succeeded in doing in the past. The group blends elements of traditional small group Swing, Gypsy Jazz and Western Swing into a tightly woven fabric of 21st Century sophistication and jumpin', thumpin' entertainment. Just four musicians form the nucleus of this high spirited and ultra swinging small band. Steve Curry - guitar, vocals; John Hewitt - bass, vocals; Erik Swanson - guitar, lead vocals, vocals; Mark Menikos - violin.
