Autechre - Incunabula flac album

Incunabula is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo Autechre, released on 29 November 1993 by Warp. Autechre member Rob Brown stated that Incunabula was "more of a compilation of old material" and that he believed follow-up album Amber was the "first album we put out on Warp. Music critics David Stubbs and Ned Raggett noted that Incunabula would differ from Autechre's later releases.

In "Incunabula" Autechre have managed to make a CONSISTENTLY excellent album, something I think they have strayed away from in their more recent experimental excursions. Each of the incredible soundscapes is unique.

Although Autechre's debut release doesn't totally display the full experimentation which would dominate their future albums and singles, it is still striking nonetheless, as proof that the early comparisons to fellow Sheffield denizens Cabaret Voltaire weren't just misguided hype.

Autechre proves early on that they're experts within their field. Incunabula may be far from the twisted, algorithmic glitch music they make today, but it still has some of the core building blocks Autechre has carried on through their career. The linear, dark and robotic techno tracks slowly warp and build into these claustrophobic (though danceable) grooves.
