Shellac's debut single offers three mid-tempo songs, leading off with the menacing "The Guy Who Invented Fire," featuring a riff admittedly lifted from Zeni Geva.

The Futurist (Shellac album). The cover of the album contains 779 names-one for each copy of the album. At the bottom of the cover is a blank space for anyone not named on the cover to write their name. Each person who received the album got a copy with their name circled on the cover; this was done for identification of a "culprit" should the album ever end up for sale. For reasons unknown, The Futurist was never released commercially. There is speculation that this was because Shellac were not satisfied with the finished product. A year later, Shellac released their second commercial full-length, Terraform  . The Rude Gesture: A Pictorial History. The Bird Is the Most Popular Finger.

Complete your Shellac collection. I owned this once before and it had the cover with the lettering and background as shown in picture above. I recently bought this again and it has the word 'Shellac' over a blue and purple background and 'Ridet Gesture a pictorial history ' printed at an angle. Is this an interesting variation or what?

Nuadora
side note: the actual "Shellac" lettering was printed with rootbeer.
Jum
From Steve Albini, on the Electrical Audio blog, they eventually ran out of root beer and started using whatever they had, mustard, blue ink (my copy is greenish). Those that are not rootbeer are more rare. I also saw online pictures of versions with random root beer doodles.
