The Singles is a compilation album/box set by The Doors, released on September 15, 2017. The collection contains both the A-sides and B-sides of all 20 US singles released between 1967 and 1983

Woman" is a song by American rock band the Doors. The song is the title track on their 1971 album . Woman, the final album to feature Jim Morrison before his death on 3 July 1971. In the song's bridge, Morrison repeats the phrase "Mr. Mojo Risin'," which is an anagram of "Jim Morrison". The phrase "city of night" that Morrison repeats several times throughout the song is the title of a novel by John Rechy, originally published in 1963

Woman, Jim Morrison’s swan song with the Doors, was released on April 19, 1971, no one outside the band’s inner circle could have guessed that it would effectively end the quartet’s tale, much less mark the last recorded output of Morrison’s life. The two post-Morrison Doors albums are a postscript at best). The album has become such a staple of the classic rock canon that it's difficult to envision a time when it didn’t exist

Woman can be considered the Doors' version of the Beatles' Let It Be (Apple, 1970): the masterpiece produced from the pressure of a popular band imploding beneath the weight of its collective egos and the musicians' chosen excesses. Singer Jim Morrison could never be accused of being the poster child for great mental health and by 1970 he was fraying on all fronts. The recording was interrupted by a planned tour to promote the new album. The tour lasted exactly two dates. The Doors opened the doomed tour at the Dallas State Music Fair on December 11, 1970, performing well. Tapes of this show, including the only live performances of any of the . Woman material ("Love Her Madly," "The Changling" and ". Woman") reveal the band tight and a rasping Morrison loose but engaged.

Released as part of the Doors' celebration of their 50th anniversary, The Singles may at first glance seem to cover familiar ground as, in essence, it's another greatest-hits collection in a discography littered with compilations. Look closer, and the differences are immediately apparent. Designed as a clearinghouse for every single the band ever released, The Singles does indeed take its mission seriously, containing the A- and B-sides of such classic 45s as "Break on Through (To the Other Side), "Light My Fire," "Love.

The Doors peaked in 2002, Morrison Hotel in 2005, and . D:^ Canadian chart position for The Doors is most likely not a peak position but rather a re-entry position as this date is 19 months after the release of the album. Woman: The Workshop Sessions. Released: January 31, 2012. Record label: Elektra/Rhino.
