Nekromorphine’s only release to date, Senseless Ecstasy, circles the pit of avant-garde black metal, and it’s difficult to know what to properly think of such an odd release. Using the higher notes, they ascend into a cacophony of weird riffs that almost seem out of tune, yet are strangely in tune. This is purely a sometimes album – not one to be listened to on a daily basis, and I can appreciate the strange nature of the compositions. Some blunders are easy to see, but otherwise it’s a worthy purchase, and nothing like anything else.
