Earnest Rustic Earthy Organic Intimate Smooth Warm Sweet Laid-Back/Mellow Lively Tender. The Great Outdoors Day Driving Summer. Steelin It: The Steel Guitar Story. Steelin' It is Proper's four-CD anthology devoted to the rise of the steel guitar in popular music. More than 40 different steel guitarists are heard on 100 historic recordings dating from the years 1925-1957. Rather than attempting a full multi-genre retrospective which would have to include the instrument's evolution as a prominent voice in African-American blues music, the producers confined the focus to Hawaiian steel guitarists and the Caucasian country & western swing players who in many cases drew inspiration directly from the Polynesians.

While the pedal steel would be the obvious choice for a tribute to a country musician, instrumentals like "Why Ain't I Runnin'" and "Shameless," dominated by Jesse Harris' pedal steel, actually seem more country than the originals. Others, like "Papa Loved Mama" and "Beer Run," veer closer to Southern rock by adding a healthy dose of slide guitar. The arrangements are fairly straightforward, with bass, drums, and rhythm guitar backing up either a dobro, pedal steel, or slide guitar. As has been traditional on CMH releases, the final piece, "Keepin' the Dream Alive," is an original composition. The Steel Guitar Tribute to Garth Brooks should appeal to both Brooks' fans and steel guitar lovers.

Kings of Metal is the sixth album by the American heavy metal band Manowar. It was released in November 18, 1988 by Atlantic Records. The album was the last to feature guitarist and founding member Ross "The Boss" Friedman, who later went on to rejoin punk band The Dictators. Drummer Scott Columbus left the band after this album as well, but rejoined for 1996's Louder Than Hell and remained with the band until 2008.

The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that usually has six strings. It is typically played with both hands by strumming or plucking the strings with either a guitar pick or the finger(s)/fingernails of one hand, while simultaneously fretting (pressing the strings against the frets) with the fingers of the other hand
