Greatest Hits is the first greatest hits compilation album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released by Columbia Records in October 1980. It also contained an alternate lyric which wasn't heard on Get Your Wings. The original lyric was "Gotcha with the cocaine, found with your gu. The alternate.

This Greatest Hits album was released in 1980, when Aerosmith’s future was very much in question. Guitarist Joe Perry had quit and formed The Joe Perry Project, while the group’s other guitarist, Brad Whitford, would soon form Whitford/St. This single-LP collection features the first album appearance of the studio version of Come Together, the Beatles cover that Aerosmith contributed to the soundtrack of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the 1978 film starring Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees. Remember (Walking in the Sand) is the band’s convincing cover of the Shangri-Las hit.
